Aug – 7 Sept – Summer
Training Seminar in sound production taught by conductor Elitza Hristova
and composer Georgi Popov. The seminar takes place as a part of the
accompanying program of the 6th International Festival for
Orthodox Music. The seminar is open to musicians and singers from Bulgaria
and abroad. This year it takes place with the participation of the singers
from the Choir at the Nikolo-Perervinskij Monastery in Moscow, Russia.

Each year the choir takes an active part in
the organization of the
International Festival for Orthodox Music "Theotokos - It is truly
meet", which takes place in the beginning of June.
The choir also regularly takes part in the
official opening and closing ceremony of the festival, as well as in the
festival concerts and festive liturgies.

“Slavyanska Beseda” and Rachmaninoff Choir in St. Nicolaus of Sofia Church.

– the choir will take part in the 6th
International Festival for Orthodox Music in Pomorie:
18 March 2009 – the choir will take part in the
official promotion of a theological textbook, which will take place in the Theological
Department of Sofia University. The textbook is published with the
blessing of the bishop of Sliven
diocese, Ioanikij.
2008
22-30 October 2008 – The choir participated in the International Choral Forum
“Podmoskovnie vechera” devoted to the 30th anniversary of
the Troizk Chamber Choir, at the
invitation of its conductor Aleksej
Malij. “Slavyanska beseda” took part in several concerts and holy
liturgies: in Troizk, Shtelkovo, and the Troizko-Sergieva Lavra.
The
choir spent the last three days in Russia
in Moscow
at the invitation of the Nikolo-Perervinski
Monastery, where it participated in two liturgies and one concert.
The
choir also had the unique honour to hold a short concert in the emblem of
Moscow ”Saint Basil’s Cathedral”
on the Red Square.
3-6 October 2008 – The choir took part in the Festival of Orthodox and Slavonic Music in Lyons la Foret, Haute
Normandie, France (Festival de la Musique et chants
orthodoxes et slaves “Les nuits blanches de Lyons la Foret”). The choir
held concerts in the church “St. Martin”
in Lyons-la-foret and the church “Holy Theotokos” in Longchamps.
7-11 June 2008 – The choir took part in the Fifth
Anniversary Edition of the International Festival for Orthodox Music,
in Pomorie, Bulgaria. The choir
performed during the festival concerts, in a festive liturgy and in the
closing concert.
